BI 105 BIBLE SURVEY

 

A. Textbooks for this course will be the King James Version of the Bible and Bible Analysis by Dr. Albert Garner, which you may order from the Missionary Baptist Bookstore Texarkana Arkansas. .

                        B. Course instructions: Complete each of the following assignments as specified and send them in for grading.

 

1. Memorize the books of the Bible in order with their proper spelling. When this is accomplished give yourself the test by writing them with proper order and spelling from memory.

 

2. Study chapter 1 of text and answer question 1, 4, 5. Write an essay answer to question 8, giving explanation and support for your position.

 

3. Study chapter 2 of text. Take an open book test by answering the twenty summary questions.

 

4. Study chapter 3 of text. Take an open book test on questions 1-8 giving detailed answers.

 

5. Study chapter 4 of text. Take an open book test on question 1, 7, 12. Using a Bible Dictionary, Bible Encyclopedia, and Bible Concordance list and define the ten words that David uses in Psalm 119 to describe the Word of God.

 

 6. Study chapter 5 of text. Write an essay supporting the divisions of the Old and New Testaments into only three parts each. Include the names of the divisions and what books each includes.

 

7. Study chapter 6 of text. Take an open book test on the fourteen summary questions.

 

8. Study chapter 7 of text. Choose a book of the Bible, which is not illustrated in the Text and write a summary of it using the five-point question rule.

 

9. Study chapter 8 of text. Take an open book test on questions 1, 6-12. Write an essay on, "Does God give human beings the power to heal today as in apostolic times"?

 

10. Study chapter 9 of text. Take an open book test on the twenty summary questions.

 

11. Study chapter 10 of text. Write an essay on the typology of the Tabernacle furniture. Document with scripture. Include your analysis of the following:

            The shewbread is it only the Memorial Supper or, could it include the believers daily communion with Christ through His Word?

            The candlestick could this be the Holy Spirit who indwells the believer to illuminate the Word to them.

 

12. Study chapter 11 of text. Take an open book test on the fourteen summary questions.

 

13. Study chapter 12 of text. Take an open book test on the fifteen summary questions.

 

14. Study chapter 13 of text. Using the five point questions rule and the proper application rule interpret the following passages? John 20:20-23; Acts 2:38, and Hebrews 6:4-6.

 

15. Study chapter 14 of text. Thoroughly explain both the particular rapture view and the general rapture view. Carefully analyze all the scripture references given in each of the eight sections of this chapter. After applying the five-point question rule and the proper application rule to each scripture which view would you say the scriptures support. Document your answer with Scripture in an essay-type conclusion.

 

16. Study chapter 15 of text. Carefully read and analyze all the scriptures used in this chapter. From this make a list of the known conditions, which shall exist during the Millennial Reign of Christ.

 

17. Submit an outline prepared from your study of the Text and the Scriptures. (This is the final examination).

 

Your final grade will be the average of the grades of these seventeen assignments.
