King James Translation: “I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass.”
Interlinear Translation: “I, I am He, comforting you. Who (are) you, that you should fear from man? He shall die! Or from the son of man? As grass he is given.
Strong’s Concordance Translation: “I, EVEN I, AM HE THAT COMFORTETH YOU = to sigh, i.e. breathe strongly, to be sorry, i.e. to pity, console, or rue, ease, repent. WHO ART THOU THAT THOU SHOULDEST BE AFRAID = morally to revere, causative to frighten, make afraid, dread, terrible act. OF A MAN THAT SHALL DIE = causative to kill, worthy to die, necromancer, slay. AND OF THE SON OF MAN WHICH SHALL BE MADE AS GRASS = from the greenness of, a leek, hay, herb.
