King James Translation: “But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.”

Interlinear Translation: “But know that has set apart Jehovah the godly for Himself; Jehovah hears when I call to Him.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “BUT KNOW = to ascertain by seeing including observation, care, recognition, instruction, designation, punishment, acknowledge, be aware, comprehend, consider, discern, discover, knowledge, perceive, privy to, regard, understand. THAT THE LORD HATH SET APART = to distinguish, put a difference, show marvelous, separate, sever, make wonderfully. HIM THAT IS GODLY = kind, i.e. religiously pious or saint, good, holy, merciful. FOR HIMSELF = causal relation of all kinds, certainly, doubtless, now, rightly, seeing, since, surely, then, therefore, yea, yet. THE LORD WILL HEAR = to hear intelligently with implication attention, obedience, causative to tell, attentively, call or gather together, certainly, consent, consider, be content, declare, diligently, discern, give ear, listen, obey, perceive, understand. WHEN I CALL UNTI HIM = accosting a person met, to call out to, i.e. address by name, call for, call forth, cry unto, invite, mention, say.
