King James Translation: “The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.”

Interlinear Translation: “and Jehovah from Zion roars, and from Jerusalem give his voice, and quake the heavens and the earth. But Jehovah is a refuge for His people and a fort to this sons of Israel.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “THE LORD = Self Existent, Eternal. SHALL ROAR = to rumble or moan mightily. OUT OF ZION = a monumental or guiding pillar, sign, way mark. AND UTTER = give, add, apply, appoint, ascribe, assign, bestow, bring forth. HIS VOICE = call aloud, proclamation, sound. FROM JERUSALEM = founded peaceful. AND THE HEAVENS = to be lofty, the sky as aloft, to be lofty, alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where celestial bodies revolve. AND THE EARTH = to be firm, field, ground, land, nations, way, wilderness, world. SHALL SHAKE = to undulate, to spring as a locust, make afraid, quake, tremble. BUT THE LORD WILL BE THE HOPE = a shelter, place of refuge, trust. OF HIS PEOPLE = as a congregated unit, a tribe, troops, attendants, figuratively a flock, folk, nation. AND THE STRENGTH = a fortified place, a defense, force, fort, rock, strong hold. OF THE CHILDREN = relationship, subject, one born, branch, breed. OF ISRAEL = prevail strong, he will rule as God.
