“Serve One Another By Love” Lesson Text: Galatians 5:1-15: Series: Galatians The Gospel Of Grace:

 

Key Verse Galatians 5:13:

King James Translation ”For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”

Interlinear Translation: “For ye for freedom were called, brethren; only use not the freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve ye one another.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “FOR = a primary particle properly assigning a reason, used in argument, explanation or intensification, and, as, because, but, even, indeed, no doubt, seeing, then, therefore, verily, what, why, yet. BRETHERN = the womb, a brother literally or figuratively near or remote, much like brother. YE HAVE = to hold, possession, ability, contiguity, relation or condition, be able, hold, possessed, accompany, begin to amend, conceive, count, diseased, do, eat, enjoy, fear, following, hold, keep, lack, go to law, lie, must needs, of necessity, next, recover, to reign, rest, return, sick, take for, tremble. BEEN = I thou, was, were, agree, be, have, hold, use.  CALLED = aloud, bid, call forth, whose name was called. UNTO = to or into indicating the point reached or entered of place, time, purpose or result, LIBERTY = freedom chiefly moral or ceremony, unrestrained, to go at pleasure as a citizen not a slave whether freeborn or manumitted, exempt from obligation or liability. ONLY = adjustment of parts, shape, nature, form. USE NOT = not handle, not to furnish what is needed, not give an oracle, not to graze, not to touch slightly, not to light upon, not to employ, not to act toward one in a given manner, not to entreat. LIBERTY = freedom chiefly moral or ceremony, unrestrained, to go a pleasure as a citizen not a slave whether freeborn, or manumitted, exempt from obligation or liability. FOR AN OCCASION = a starting point, i.e. figuratively an opportunity, start off. TO THE FLESH = as stripped of the skin, the body as opposed to the soul or the spirit, or as the symbol of what is external, human nature with its frailties, physical or morally, carnally minded, fleshly, BUT BY LOVE = affection or benevolence, charity, dear. SERVE  = to be a slave, be in bondage, service. ONE ANOTHER = each other, mutual, the other, them, yourselves, together.
