King James Translation: “By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.”

Interlinear Translation: “By faith Moses, having been born, was hid three months by his parents because they saw beautiful the little child; and did not fear the injunction of the king.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “BY FAITH = to convince by argument, by analogy to pacify or conciliate by other fair means, to assent to evidence or authority, to rely by inward certainty, agree, assure, have confidence, be or wax confident, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield. MOSES = drawing out of the water, i.e. rescue, to pull out, draw out. WHEN HE WAS BORN = to procreate properly of the father but by extension of the mother, figuratively to regenerate, bear, beget, bring forth, conceive, be delivered of, make, spring. WAS HID THREE MONTHS = to conceal properly by covering, keep secret, secretly. OF HIS PARENTS = of the father but by extension of the mother. BECAUSE = on the very account that, or inasmuch as, therefore. THEY SAW = to know, be aware, behold, consider, have knowledge, look on, perceive, be sure, tell, understand, wist, wot. HE WAS = am, have been, wast, agree. A PROPER = urbane, i.e. by implication handsome, fair. CHILD = an infant, by extension a half grown boy or girl, figuratively an immature Christian, little, young, damsel. AND THEY WERE NOT AFRAID = to frighten, i.e. to be alarmed, by analogy to be in awe of, i.e. revere, fear, reverence. OF THE KING’S COMMANDMENT = an arrangement, i.e. authoritative edict.
