“The Doctrine Of Sanctification” Lesson Text: Hebrews 10:10-14: Series: Life Changing Doctrines Of The Bible:
King James Translation: V10: “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all”. V11: “And every priest standeth daily ministering an offering often times the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:” V12: “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;” V13: “From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.” V14: “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
Interlinear Translation: V10: “by which will sanctified we are through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. V11: “And every priest stands day by day ministering, and the same often offering sacrifices, which never are able to take away sins.” V12: “But he, one for sins having offered sacrifice, in perpetuity sat down at the right hand of God,” V13: “henceforth awaiting until be placed his enemies as a footstool for feet his.” V14: “For by one offering he has perfected in perpetuity the sanctified.”
Strong’s Concordance Translation: V10: “BY THE WHICH WILL = a determination properly the thing, choice, purpose, decree, volition, inclination, desire, pleasure. WE ARE SANCTIFIED = to make holy, i.e. purify or consecrate, to venerate, hallow, be holy, sanctify, sacred. THROUGH THE OFFERING = presentation, concretely an oblation, sacrifice, offering up. OF THE BODY = the body as a sound whole, bodily, slave. OF JESUS CHRIST ONCE FOR ALL= upon one occasion only, at once, superimposition of time, place, order, of rest, of direction, a single time numerically or conclusively. V11: “AND EVERY PRIEST = sacred, holy. STANDETH = abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, lay, present, set up, stanch, stand by, forth, still, up. DAILY = down in plac4e or time, according as, after, against, alone, among, apart, even, like as, pertaining to, touching, aside, at, before, beyond, by, to the charge of, concerning, charitably. MINISTERING = to be a public servant, to perform religious or charitable functions, worship, obey, relieve. AND OFFERING = presentation, concretely an oblation, sacrifice, offering up. OFTENTIMES = many times, frequently, often, much in any respect, largely, mostly, abundant, altogether, common, far past, spent, great age, long, many, much, plenteous, sore, straitly. THE SAME = a baffling wind, self, own, they, selves. SACRIFICES = the act or the victim, breathe hard, blow, smoke, by fire, slaughter for any purpose, kill, slay. WHICH CAN NEVER = not to be able or possible, not be able, can not do, could not, may not, might not, not be of power. TAKE AWAY = to move all around, unveil, cast off anchor, expiate, take away up. SINS = offence, sinful, missing the mark so not share in the prize, to err for your faults, offend, trespass.
