King James Version: “Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is not resurrection of the dead.”
Interlinear Translation: “Now if Christ is preached, that from among the dead he has been raised, how say some among you that a resurrection of the dead there is not?”
Strong’s Concordance Translation: “NOW = but, and, also, moreover, often. IF = a primary particle of conditionality, whether, that, for as much, as that, although. CHRIST BE PREACHED = to herald as a public crier, especially divine truth, the gospel, proclaim, publish. THAT HE ROSE = the idea of collecting ones faculties, to waken, rouse, lift up, raise, rear up, arise, take up. FROM THE DEAD = to die, a corpse. HOW SAY SOME = relate in words usually of systematic or set discourse, to break silence, to mean, ask, bid, extended or random harangue, to mean, boast, call, describe, give out, name, put forth, shew, speak, tell, utter. AMONG YOU = fixed position in place, time, state and by implication instrumentality medially or constructively, i.e. a relation of rest, about, after, against, altogether, between. THAT THERE IS NOT RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD = a standing up again, a resurrection from death, a moral recovery of spiritual truth, raised to life again, rise from the dead, rising again.
