“Who Should Do The Work Of Evangelism” Lesson Text: Mark 16:15: Series: Systematic Evangelism:
First we discussed the great commission, Secondly we discussed the action and reaction from sowing the seed in carrying out the great commission. Who is being spoken of as to the doing of this work? Let us review that it is all Christians as was stated in study of the great commission. Mark 16:15 from the Interlinear Greek-English New Testament by George Ricker Berry reads, “And He said to them (His disciples), having gone into the world ALL proclaim the GLAD TIDINGS to all the ALL the creation.” Young’s
Concordance translates the ALL of Mark 16:15 as ALTOGETHER. “Altogether proclaim the glad tidings” seems to further pinpoints who should do the work of evangelism.
Young’s Concordance Translation: “GO – to traverse, i.e. travel, especially to remove, figuratively to die, live, depart, go away, go forth, one’s way, make a journey, walk. YE = you as a subject of verb, yourselves, you, thou, the personal pronoun of the second person singular. INTO = to or into indicating the point reached or entered of place, time, purpose, of result. ALL = a particle of union, absolutely all or everyone, whole, all union. THE = the definite article. WORLD = orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration, including inhabitants, adorning. AND = a primary particle having a copulative and cumulative force. PREACH = to herald as a public crier, especially divine truth the gospel, preacher, proclaim, publish. THE = the definite article. GOSPEL = a good message, to announce good news, declare, bring show, glad tidings, good tidings, preach the gospel. TO = to or into indicating the point reached or entered of place, time, purpose or result. EVERY = all, any, the whole, all manner of, all means, always, anyone, daily, as many as, thoroughly. CREATURE = original formation, the act, by implication the thing, building, creation, ordinance.
